Our experiment with growing flowers last year seemed to be a fun experience for everyone who came out and supported our local farm. Thank you all! We have added another 800 square feet to our small but pretty, well I am biased, little flower patch at the farm. As we did last year, the flowers have been grown from seed, and this year we did some early seed starting in a small greenhouse. Using the greenhouse gave us the opportunity to try and grow more flower varieties that may not be commonly found locally. It continues to be a learning process, but that is half the fun.
Why flowers? Well I love fresh flowers or just any pretty natural cutting to bring in the house and most of our friends share that love, so we thought, maybe more folks would enjoy locally grown fresh flowers.
We will open the U-Pick Flower Patch on Saturday mornings during the summer and possibly add another open morning during the week depending on flower yield and interest. The amount and type of flowers available will vary from week to week so we will try to make sure we post updates to our Jordan Lake Christmas Tree Farm Facebook page.
While shopping for flowers we will have some wonderful seasonal items for purchase in our gift shop:
All parking will be at the main lot near the Christmas shop (the red barn). There may be some construction materials in the parking lot so please park leaving plenty of space between your car and the materials. Also when parking, please make sure your car is not blocking other cars from entering or exiting.
What Should You Bring?
Tables will be available if you would like to do your flower arrangement during your visit with us.
Children are welcome, especially during our Christmas in July Market Event as each child between the ages of 3-12 years old will receive a free ornament to decorate and place on a growing choose and cut Christmas tree. There will also be ornament kits for purchase so the kids can get a jump start on making some new ornaments for the tree this year.
We ask parents to stay with their children at all times and do not allow them to wander in the fields or barns.
Please DO NOT Bring
How Flower Selection Works
2 ways to purchase flowers:
If you opt for the pitcher/bucket method, you are welcome to arrange your flower bouquet in the containers you brought while at the farm.
Please arrive at least 1 hour before closing time to select your items, especially if you will be staying to arrange your bouquet(s).
Photographers are welcome during the summer months at our farm. Please see the Photographer page of this website for details.
We will open on Saturdays from 8-12noon and will consider opening another morning during the week if flowers are abundant. We estimate opening mid July and closing end of September. We have planted flowers in succession so hope to be able to have flowers available through this time. Exact dates TBD.
**Please note that hours are subject to change due to weather, flower supply or unforeseen circumstances. All changes/closures will be posted on our Facebook page.**
We are honored to host local artisans, crafters, farmers, antique and salvage curators to join us for a fun filled day at the farm. Vendor fees are $25 for a 12X12 space located outside in an open field near the Christmas Shop. Tents are recommended for shade. Go to our online store to purchase your space. Set up time will start at 7am.
